The System Drag Reduction unit operates on simple aero-dynamic principles and extensive trials have seen reductions in fuel consumption of up to 6% for heavy and lighter goods vehicles.

With fuel currently accounting for a prohibitive 30% of UK haulage operators costs, the unit promises massive savings for the industry, while also contributing to safer driving conditions and reduced emissions.

While many HGVs have for some time featured front-end tractor unit deflectors and trailer skirts, scant attention has been paid to the top of the back end of the vehicle. This is where the SDR unit comes in, unobtrusively fixed to the very back of the box unit. Adding only a few inches to the height of the box unit, the SDR greatly reduces air turbulence and, therefore, resistance, with the resulting benefits.

Easily fitted to most heavy and light goods vehicles in just a few hours and maintenance free, the rugged unit, made of tough Polyurethane, delivers all of this for a trade price of £340 plus VAT(finished in primer).

The SDR is also available ready finished in white at £396.20 plus VAT. The unit is not suitable for drawbar type trailer units due to their aerodynamic characteristics.

Developed and successfully trialled in Spain by a leading manufacturer, the SDR unit is launched in the UK and Ireland by long-established Hadrian Car Panels Ltd, of Hexham, LMC Hadrian Ltd, of Westbury in Wiltshire and the newly launched Hadrian Midlands Ltd, based in Coventry.
