Aerodynamics

When a vehicle moves, air exerts a significant force resisting its motion and known as aerodynamic drag. The average truck uses 50% of fuel to overcome air resistance and the remainder to overcome rolling resistance. The drag coefficient directly relates a vehicle’s shape to the amount of air resistance experienced and any form of vehicle streamlining reduces the coefficient.
