The
SDR unit has noteworthy road safety implications. The
reduced turbulence at the back of the vehicle has been
found to have two main effects.
Poor
visibility in wet weather conditions is a major road
safety issue. The SDR unit helps to suppress the flume
of spray generated by HGV vehicles and box vans, leading
to better rear mirror visibility for the driver and
better driving conditions for following vehicles.
The
SDR unit can also help to stabilise the rear of the
vehicle, reducing the “zig-zag” oscillation
often seen.
